August

Hahahaha ;)
August an other trip.. GREECE!
With my tripod stool! ;)
Love them!!! ;)

I don't even know what can I say...
It started with a 1 hour delay at the airport...
but even before.. there were signs - bunch of signs- that this holiday is a bad idea...
As if we were playing with our charma...
Train - bus issues before traveling, accommodation in Crete (don't ask...), Saloniki instead of Athens, everything ,everything showed this holiday will be a disaster.

But, of course, knowing 3 of us.. it is impossible.
We did have our downtimes, however, the whole week was just amazing.
Greece!
The sea, the whole adventure, the FOOD, Pavlos, the restaurant owner, Skiathos, above all Skiathos... it was amazing ;)
To sum up:
"Raise your hands... it's more fun that way"

Despite of the break up&the change we all went through, best tripod ever...

And hey, friends are those, who will bring the spade to dig, in case you want to hide something... but also friends are those, who tells you to stop if there is a slippery slope and you lost control! They are the real friends, because they want you to grow...
they might shock you at first by telling you the truth that deep down you knew as well, just somehow didn't want to realize, but later -if you are not that stubborn - you do realize who is right. ;)

I do want to repeat it... ;)

Can't wait for December, for an extended fivesome ;)

Màshol nem lelsz hàzat, hazàt...

It seems October is my date... it has been always a turning point for me.. don't get it...
anyways...

I am on youtube... and Eszter showed me this song from Szandi - yes... that teenage girl from the 80'2-90's. Now she grew up, and tis song is just soo moving...

"There are stilll bigger miracles then dreams waitnig for you..."

"You could live anywhere, there is still magic,
but you could feel, it's only a beautiful delusion..."

Várnak rád többen, mint kívánhatnád;
máshol nem lelsz házat, hazát.

Refr.:
Élhetnél bárhol, van még varázs,
de éreznéd százszor: csak szép csalás.
Távolról visszatérnél, visszaálmodnál,
látnád, hogy több az otthon minden mámornál,
minden múlt bent él, bent fáj.
Hozzád bújt sok tél, sok nyár…

Képzeld, hogy szállhatsz,
az ég ma téged választ.
Ha társad nincs, mennyit ér?
Képzeld, hogy szállhatsz,
fent megkapsz minden választ;
ahol indultál, ott a cél.

Várnak rád álmoknál nagyobb csodák,
lesz út a kincsedhez, ha szíved jól lát.
Várnak rád jobban, mint kívánhatnád;
máshol nem lelsz házat, hazát…

Refr.:
Élhetnél bárhol, van még varázs,
de éreznéd százszor: csak szép csalás.
Távolról visszatérnél, visszaálmodnál,
látnád, hogy több az otthon minden mámornál,
minden múlt bent él, bent fáj.
Hozzád bújt sok tél, sok nyár…

Szomszedok - form my childhood

This is about a hungarian TV show, that was basicly not just a simple TV show... but gave a correct overview of the hungarian lifestyle in the 1980's. The TV show was broadcast during 12,5 years.

Watching it now on youtube is one of my favorite activites nowadays. It is just HILARIOUS!!!!
And look what I 've found today:

I keep looking for the rest... ;)

Hungary, I love you as you are!

I have already heard a lot about this beer commercial, but haven't seen it yet...

Until one of my friend posted it...

This is amazing!

So true, and this video gave me the creeps all over my body, my tears are falling....

I don't care at all that the original idea was coming from Canada...

And on youtube you can also find more and more parody about Hungary. Of course, I agree we should also see Hungary through a distorting mirror, and I am always the one who cam ake fun of herself in a sarcastic, grotesc way... Sure.. but just people needs to understand also those, who are living outside of the country. They are missing it a lot, and it makes them proud, and homesick, and goosy, and yes, PROUD!

I watched it like thousands time already... and still can not get full with it!

Oh, boy...! What a weekend! ;)

Last weekend I went back home...
I had to get some injections... (hep A+B... stuff like that... as we are going to travel to Africa... .;)
And no, i didn't have to get those vacines because i was traveling back to Hungary, as some of my friends applied... saying that I changed...now I become one of the burgouise.... hahaha...
So...
Recently I took a very clever facebook quiz: "What type of alcoholic are you?"
The result was: Avarage Hungarian - of which I am very proud!
It means, that for me weekend parties start on Thursday...
We went to say good-bye to our awsome-st australian friend, Fiona...we ate fondue, than we went to Mulligans.. she also did sing a song!
After a few hour sleep, I was heading to Budapest... ;)
On Friday night I had a great party with Sanka and some university friends...
Still waiting for THE VIDEO!!! ;)

And finally, I know also, what's going to happen in August!

Yes... Zsicu & Zsozsi's wedding!!!
Can't wait for it!!! ;)
(And neither for the hen's night... :P)
AND!

Also, after a few hours sleeping, I was bumping down to Jaszbereny....
to the annual
"TRADITIONAL SPRING CELEBRATION PARTY..."

Maybe, because I missed the last 3 traditional parties,
or maybe , because I haven't slept a lot,
or maybe, because I missed Hungary (&my friends...) soooo much,
but.. I can't tell you about this.. the whole athmosphere, the people, the food, the drinks..

Oh, boy!

You have to experience it!
From 9 am on...
17 kg of sheep...
20 liter mutton-stew...
outside,on fire...
sun is shining (sometimes..)
lot's of cans of beer...
lots of Jagermeister...
than some whisky&coke... (which we could have missed... but anyways...)
No wonder, that we were already in a good mood at 11... ;)

Bally - THE host; Beci - THE cook

friends I haven't met since 3 years,

friends I really missed,

people I have just met...

Oh boy! What a weekend!

Weekend stories...

A week ago we went to Gstaad - the Hungaraian maffia: Andras, Eszti, Norbi, me - and the greek intern, Dimitris. ;)

The original plan was to visit the Iglo-cave, Iglo - restaurant and hotel over there, (300 CHF for a room..and they have to build it again every season...)

but than the weather was sooo great, that at the nd we didn't eat inside, instead outside, under the sun.
(I think Jägertee is something avaiable only in Austria...I've never seen in any swiss or french ski resort...)

So, we did some sledging..
Yes, back to the childhood...
But, maaan, slediging is hard... and it is very scary.. and you can not always turn.. and it can be very fast...
Ok, sometimes it can be also very slow.. and tiring...

We did 2 rounds.. it was really funny :)))

First, i was alone...

Fairy & Froggy are back

The second round was more fun, we went with Andras together, oh boy... we were fast, and once we fell a huge.. :))))

Than, on this weekend, Tompi & Enid came from Zurich to visit us... They went to the car show.. (biggest in Europe..) tried to apply for test driving, and they checked all the cars... I have no idea, how could they spend their 5-6 hours...

Anyways, than we went to dinner...

Peter, Enid, Monika, Csizi, me, Alberto(PT), Elodi (FR)

The place was ok, it is rather for cocktails.. (mojitoooo) I guess: The 3s... in plainpalais...
After we went to Scandale - for celebrating Carissa's birthday, then we ended up in Shakers... And.. of course, we had to bump into 9 other hungarians...

But in Shakers I had soo much fun :)))

Alberto was very great, I hope he'll forget what we discussed... We actually had a deal, the party in Zurich will be on me (partly)... khm... ;) well... one is for sure... the expectation now is high... :DD
Aida managed to get us free shots: uzo on flame... hahaha... Just smile to the bartender guy ;)

A few weeks earlier, we had Ravaka's graduation party :) Oh, boy! What a party! The theme was 80's party...

Aaaand... I went to a french movie... ;)

Ok, it was: He is just not that into you...

But, VF - means: Version francaise...

hahaha... Lucky me.. the movie is nto a drama, and also the discussions are easy to understand:

"Tu es mon exception!"

"Je vais coucher..." - "C'est une invitation?"

hahaha... hilarious... ;)

And, it means, that when Aida is in Budapest, I can take her to a hungarian movie... ;)

bisous

Hungary, where are you sinking?

It is shocking...I am speechless.
Can't find the words regarding the recent happenings in Hungary.

A well-known, famous romanian handball player, who plays in a great hungarian team, was stabbed in the heart, and died on Sunday.

It is shocking...

Nobody believes that such a terrible thing could happen nowadays.

And yet, the second or third comment of that news was already: yes, the socialist government's other achievement...
Come on, people... !!!
And, this comment was also made by one of my classmates at the university.

He is now doing a PhD in a well-known, prestigous university...

Seriously...

I am fed up with the government too... but seriuosly... this is ridiculous..
How is that again the fault of Gyurcsany?
Pff.. people should think a little...
I don't agree with the policies the government applies on the minorities ... (let's face it... on the gypsies either... ) but PEOPLE!!!
Seriously!!!
I really hope that whoever did this terrible thing, will be punished... as he deserves it.
I am also glad that the police managed to arrest them...

can not even imagine, if only half of those things are coming true what the newspapers and he people in the comments are writing ... revange with 100 - 300 ex-soldiers... and they are all waiting in front of the hungaraian border...

Seriously... this is the world we live in?

Pff...

Living in the past...

I don't know what's going on with me...
On Thursday night I had a really great night with my best friends in Hungary... we were online-drinking ;)
I really missed them, and it was good to talk a little bit finally.

Than later I was surfing on youtube, and found several interesting videos..

For example this one:

I think the techique is amazing.
Ok, for my international readers... ;)
So, the guy is Pal Szecsi, who was a very very famous singer in Hungary in the 1960-70's.
He had an amazing voice. He had a very tragical childhood, and he tried to commit suicide several times later in his life, at the age of 30, he died...(also by suicide...)The 8th attempt was basicly "successfull".
With this song ("Just one dance...") he won in 1967 in a Hungarian Songfestival. Actually, he was always a "topic" in Hugary, he had really a loads of fun, obviuosly girls, women, who always wentr to his grave and brought him flowers, chochlates, etc. Also, women tried to commit suicide next to him...

The girl is a nowadays star singer... if I am right...

And the Hungarian TV channel did this technical trick...great!

I really like this song...

Is there any deeper???

Could that be even worst?
Not just the Olympics for Hungary, but... everything...
It is just...
NOT FAIR!

AT ALL!!!

Yes, the Olympics...now it is not for Hungary, we don't have luck, we are really bad, we are not in the mood, maybe also this "we-finally-have-to-win-a-gold-medal" feeling freaks everybody out, creates a really uncomfortable atmosphere among the sportplayer, but also that like both sportmen fell off their horses??? We lose in water polo with the penalties??? And we have never won any medal at the Olympics with female water polo...even though we won on World Champions leageu, worldcup, etc. We lose in female handball? Not even lose, but we play really bad! REALLY BAD!
We can not blame everything on the judges...
Ok, it is a fact, they are always against us.
And yes, I know it is harsh, but yes, they are always against us! Commeon, you have to live with that, we always knew we can not count on the referees... ALWAYS....

I really really hope that as of today, our bad luck is over.
I really hope that tomorrow for the flatwater canoe and kayak we gonna do our best, and simply just manage to do the "compulsory task".

And what really makes me sad is that people are now taking it to political level.
Obviously the government didn't support enough the sport.
And the ratio behind that is some fluffy bureaucratic changes what was mad by the current government. As earlier Sport had a Ministry, now it is only a portfolio...
????
COMMEON!!!!

Andras (the Cheese, a.k.a the Csiz), my college and a friend of mine made a report:
Which country won the most gold medal since 1896 in the Summer Olympics Game, if we take into consideration the number of Games each ctry was participated and its population.
:)
It has of course it is own constraints, but it is a really cool report. Maybe I can share some inputs...
1. Estonia
2. Finland
3. Bahamas
4. HUNGARY
;)

From one of my favorite quote:
"Snowflakes - tiny, flying petal miracles"

(A hópelyhek - apró repkedő sziromcsodák!)*
*(If somebody knows a better translation, pls let me know, as I am not sure if this makes any sense as it is a literal translation...)

Of course, if we take into consideration the results of the Winter Olypmics as well, the result would be SLIGHTLY different...

Anyways, so... let's just all hope for tomorrow and Saturday!

"Hajrá magyarok!"

Olympics 2008 Beijing

I simply just can not believe it!

It is sooo typical.. Hungary is living in the past... and try to live from its gloriuos past...
Ok, it is not necessarily only about sport, because I could mention the politics as well...but still... now what annoys me... is the sport...
The Olympics 2008!

What the hell is going on???

We used to be the swimming nation.... or rather the water-nation...
Ok, the canoe and kayak has not started yet (flatwater) I have all my hope there...

Cseh Laci is amazing... even if Phelps is here...and he won everything...still, he is the "Silver- guy".

And nobody can win against Phelps...
(Ok, dopping is an other question...but... let him be true...let him be the historic icon for americas sport and for swimming as well)

But where are the our other swimmers???
Or where is the fencing team? (you know, Aida or our team???" We loose always...
And than all the news and the media keeps telling about the glorious past...and that the politicians ruined everything.. no money...
"Little money, little football"
Well, yes..no money, no Olympics..
The Hungarian Olympic Committee is nowadays only a travel agency...

Yes, ok, I agree, you need support (financial, and political as well...) but to get support you need results, you can deliver results, if you have appropriate cricumstances to prepare, professional teams, etc that helps you duting the preparatino,, and for that you need money...
But still... where are those outstanding individuals???
Some of them are stars already, or working in a fancy club in abroad, and don't care about the Olympics anymore???
They play very egoistic... if at all they play...

What's wrong with the Hungarian handall team??
GIRLS!! WAKE UP!!!
We have to win against Romania!!!
Ok, I remember, usually that's the same with the waterpolo as well...
During the group matches we sucks, than when it is about death or live, we win..

And, do not dare to blame it on the judges or politicians or past or whatever!!!
Leave them alone!!
Why is it so hard to say: "Yes, we didn't play 100%, I was not there mental, I sucked... our defense was a catastrophe, we didn't concentrate!"

Why should we say that the judges were against us, they didn't give us any fore, the yalways send out with fault all our members, etc???

Come on.. the judges can help a team, true, but not 11 goals... for the second time as well...
conspiracy..
all the judges are against us...
Oh I am so pissed of, and disappointed...

At the end, though, I really hope we are going to win...
1-1 gold medals in water polo and handball, and way more medals in canoe and kayak...
As in Athen...
I live in the past too...

Finnally...

So, finally I am back... I was not updating this blog due to several reasons...
first, nothing interesting really happened to me
second, i was than very very busy with my studies (ok, maybe I was rather in a deep selfpityness...)
third, lots of things happened, everything changed, and I didn't know where to start.

So, maybe.. at the beginning??? :)

Yes, I graduated!
I am an economist. - Whatever it is...
You guys can not imagine, how big relief it was for me... ugh...

And... actually, beside the relief I felt somehow disappointment too... (ok, here of course I am not talking about the aftergraduation party in Pest with Süti :)

I was disappointed maybe because I have been working for 1,5 years already, so I can see the real value of my degree... :(
It is really just a paper!

Because of my graduation, and all the exams, etc I stayed at home for more than 5 weeks!
It was amazing!!! I really missed my family ( btw, FAMILY stands for: Father And Mother I Love You) :))), my little brother, who is actually not that little anymore.
He is a real entrepreneur!!! :) and my grandfather of course!!! :)

Than I came back with Eszter, who is going to take over my position at HP.
She reminds me the way how I started everything.
I also had problems with the IT technology at HP, or looking for a flat in Geneva...

I had strange feelings, the transition started, she is going to take over my role, my job, I am going to leave HP.
I am going to miss the core team, specially one of my colleagues! When my boss announced, that I am leaving, she jabbered me, saying that she is going to miss me... :)
That really meant a lot!
She is really a great role model at working!

This weekend we went to Bern and Basel. I can't believe I visited Bern again... it is a really nice, charming little city... but still... and it was rainig again, so I still couldn't check the bears!!! Next time!!! sigh...

Than we went to Basel!!! It was OK, however the interesting thing was the blind restaurant.

The restaurant is called: Blindekuh - as in the restaurant there is as dark as a cow :)

The restaurant is managed by a foundation, that helps the blind people.

We can experience , how it could be living (ok, this case, eating) in totally dark, you are using your other senses.
It was definitely really interesting, however, expensive.
They could have offered more food, anyways.

The whole restaurant was in an old store house, there was completely, completely dark. Ok, when we first entered into the building, there was light at the reception. (and of course the chef is not blind, and in the kitchen and in the toilette there are lights...) So, we had to check the "carte" at the reception, we had to choose there what to order. Than the receptionist called our waiter, she was blind. We had to grab each others shoulder, and she led us to our table.
Everything was completely DARK!!! :)

I don't know, if you have seen one of the episodes from the CSI TV shows... well, there was a crime committed in a restaurant like this... FUNNY :)))

Ok, tomorrow, we are going to have Hungarian plate at the cafeteria!!!
That's why it is important to be friendly with the CHEF, and other kitchen crew members!!! :)))
At HP, we usually have food from all over the world... but we never had a hungarian one, so I always asked from him, when he can prepare sth.
He was asking for recipes... so I gave him a book :)))

I am really curious about the food tomorrow!!! :)

Good night,
bisous

New Year, new life :)

Long time, I know... :)
However, it was a fantastic 2007 and the start of 2008 is not that bad at all. :)

I won't write about the best moments of 2007, no reflections, just simply a summary, 2007 was a great year, full with challenges, great old friends and new ones. So I am happy.

And for this year, I have my priorities.
- find a great flat/studio/room from February (i know...it is boring...
- go to the gym twice a week
- study german (so, maybe after some weeks, I will post in German Das ist aber fantastisch!!!
- decide about my future... :D This is the best. My contract will end in May, so I have to choose from some opportunities. Now at least I have some... :D I am sure, I won't be spontaneous!!! hihihi

Xmas was great with my family, with my friends...
My mother cooked a lot, so I was just eating, and eating... :)))

Than I was in Pécs, visiting my friends, we went to Villány to wine tasting. This is a great region in Hungary..you should definitely try the red wines there...

Christmas

It is just 25 days more and Christmas time!!!! :))))

I didn't really feel it till today.
I went shopping and in the supermarket there were lots of Christmas stuff, and of course all the candles, the pine branches, the Santa Clauses, the Snowmen, mistletoes, everything was FAKE. With fake snow on the street and on some trees in front of a famous Hotel.
Disappointing.

But than... today... I saw a small small shop.... When I entered, it was warm inside, there were candles, and the smell was amazing.
I was listening some music coming form the shop, and everything, the branches, the Advent cornices were amazing, beautiful not too much things on them but also not even less. Just perfect.

If I had more arms, I would have taken one.

Next time.

So that's why I changed also my blog photo... :)

The Christmas countdown has started!!! :)

I am so excited and happy!!! :D

Just a short sign in...

Yesterday we celebrateed Manuel's birthday... he is from Italy, working also at a hadgefund, and he used to live in Rue De Lyon...

Oh, yes.. the famous Rue de Lyon... :)

We found a really good restaurant...it is basically an italian restaurant, but the owners are from Spain and Portugal. So for us it is just a Spanish/Portuguese restaurant... :)))

And they serve French/swiss food too... We ate fondue, and pizzas... :)

This restaurant will be a definitly must go, when my friends are coming and visiting me... :)))

And, moreover, yesterday it was fullmoon... so beautiful... :)))

Today I have to work.
Yes, I know, it is a workingday in Hungary, so now I am solidariting with my friends, but still... :)
On 1 Nov I am in the office!!!
Not like you, guys! :P

And my first high.-school reunion will take place today... Hopefully i can participate virtually... :)))
Would be so great... :)

Have a nice autumn, enjoy the colorful trees, the sun is shining, life is beautiful. :)
